Hi everyone, wondered if anyone could give us a bit of advice.  I recently purchased another!! strat, its a 69, but the pickups are naff.  I've got a set of trilogy suites (staggered) that i bought a while back but have never used.

I like a real nice bluesy tone, but a bit hotter (kinda srv).  Will these be any good or are they too much??

Any advice would be great.

you might as well try the trilogies since you have them, but as far as i know, the irish tours are the pickups you want for srv- they're based on rory gallgher's tone.

Trilogies are about twice the DC of Irish Tours/Texas Specials so you have a heck of alot more power to play with.  I reckon you could get SRV tones with staggered trilogies but with a bit of care in the amp dept.

If you have them shove em in - i'm sure you won't be disappointed.

cheers guys, i reckon you're right, just give em a go first, just thought that the power might kill the tone a bit, my mate reckons the irish tours are the thing i want

out of interest - why have yu not used the trilogy suites before? i think you should try em and love em!
Turning down the volume on em a tad might help a more SRV tone...

never tried em before as the strat i have already sounds great and is all original, didn't want to mess with it.

Gonna give em a go but i reckon they'll be too yngwie for me
