This isn't interesting.
It's absolute nonsense. An online poll is is hardly a meaningful representation of anything. For a start, it's now 2013 and not 2007, so 6 years of statistics has been missed, which could show anything. In the UK, the firearms offences include using replica weapons etc for intimidation. Not just fatal shootings. In 2008, there were four times the amount of deaths from fatal stabbings than from shootings. That pole was put online very very soon after a high profile murder so some voting will be reactionary. I can't support the completely racist, xenophobic, idotic and ignorant comments on either website. I'm lucky enough to have not seen a gun in a long time (my dad used to have shotguns for clay pigeon shooting but got rid of them when I was really young) and unless you're really really unlucky or mix with the wrong crowd, as a citizen, I think you'll be unfortunate to ever come across one in the UK. I jog around the place labelled 'Least peacful place in the UK' and I don't feel threatened by guns.
I find your post on this subject on a music related forum pretty distasteful, and I hope this is removed also.

+1 I couldn't agree more, to post it on here is a bad idea, I notice he is also american which explains the pro gun opinions.

I really don't see the point of that poll. It's pretty meaningless for a start, because all the Daily Telegraph is asking readers to do is choose from a shortlist of six potential bills, none of which I would regard as remotely significant issues in the current political climate.
The Telegraph doesn't even call it a "poll". It's a "competition". And as they say themselves:
The readers of telegraph.co.uk/politics did not disappoint, and provided us with a raft of ideas. These are the six that caught our eye.
If it was a completely open question people would be talking about the state of the economy, tax, maybe Europe.... not these fringe issues.
I'm surprised there are even that many people, in total, who give a toss about hand guns or gun clubs. It's never even crossed my mind as an issue.

+1 - Obviously is a big issue with OP .... Isn't this the 3rd post on this subject? Perhaps a different forum might get the results he is looking for.
