So, if everything goes as planned, I'll starting doing this V soon... but not sure on which top for it, what do you think???
It's a kinda surprise build, so I'm not unveilling much info :P
-
For me it'd be the spalt (but then I don't have to build it and it's apparently not the nicest thing in the world to deal with). Also I'd turn it round to go with the V. I think that'd look very cool. Black burst finish like Wez did on the spalted Veteran.

Another vote for spalted. I think it will look better on a V than burl.

dean did a spalted V. it looked awesome!

I was remembering the Schenker Brothers V, thought that was spalted but it's not.
Anyway, I vote for spalted too.

Tim has an amazing Case V with a burl top which is stunning and looks a bit like spalted. It's even more impressive in real life.

Such a hard choice! Probably Spalted for a V, though. If it was a Tele or something I would have gone with Burl.

Spalted gets my vote! :D

So, Spalted it is :)
Thanks guys!

Bad news!
I was applying cyanoacrilate glue on the top to harden it and the top is cracking all over... :(
-
Sounds bad, but I'd say get a PM to Wez, Fernando.
-
Tomorrow I'm carrying it to a friend of me who is a professional luthier, lets see what happen
-
how did it go Fernando?
-
Well, he thinks we may be able to use it... I'm still a little bit uncertain, the top is 3/8" thick right now, I'm planning to thin it down to 3mm and not sure how it will react on the planer... Hope it ends well, if not, lesson learned!
