Dat thing is b*tching.
Totally love the Regius models somehow. That is like the modern guitar for me. How I would love to get my hands on one of those Daniel Gildenlöw (Pain of Salvation) signature Regius...
Also always interresting to hear more about the Blackhawks. Plus they really suit that guitar. I still have trouble with them in old school axes, but here it just belongs.
Gotta say too that the freatboard is utterly wicked. Wonderfull stuff.
Hearing that their customer service and quality is soothing, places a Regius under my top 3 guitars I want (besides a Feline LP and a nice strat with V neck), though the Maestro has a great charm too.
-
very nice looking guitar, it looks like he used high quality woods and the colour also compliments the orange amp superbly.
-
I don't usually like Mayo but what a beauty! Great rig bet it sounds brill.
-
Thanks guys! Words can't describe how happy I am with this guitar.
Btw, I want to name it something - preferably quirky but it could also be normal if I find something good. Any suggestions?
I'm thinking "Reginald Rose/Clark" or "Mayweather".
-
That guitars look very clean despite the tigerstripe top. A beauty!

'Djenty Smurf'?
'Sonic the Djenthog'?
'Captain Djentmerica'
'Liara DjenT'soni'
'Dr. Djenthattan'
'Violet Djentregarde'
I should go to sleep and stop trying to be funny. Night.

+1 for Djenty Smurf
-
Nice 1! that finish is very sharp and the finishing looks clean as anything-glad it sounds awesome also!

Haha
All of these are great! I specifically really liked Sonic the Djenthog and Djenty Smurf.
That said, I'm not really gonna be Djenting all that much with this guitar.
Those names could still work out though - there's a funny vibe about them and I will be playing some Djent...

It's really an incredible guitar. Possibly the best that I have ever played and certainly the best that I have own. Distant runners up are an EBMM JP6 and PRS Custom 24 that I tried a few months ago and a Mayones Legend with rotten strings is also up there...
That just shows how much I love this. I would say the Mayones have really outdone themselves here... but, from what I've read, their guitars are consistently this good.
-
itamar, this guitar is utterly insane! Awesome choices in terms of materials and finish. Enjoy it, mate, what a beautiful axe.
'Liara DjenT'soni'
You, sir, rock. :D
ME references FTW.

wow, that's really nice :)

Cool! Looks ace.
No fret markers, though? I'd get lost on a 7 string WITH markers, let alone one without...

It's actually pretty easy. It only takes about 10 minutes to get used to and even before that it's not "difficult" - just unusual. I still have side dots. :)
-
Very Tasteful, less is more vibe. Enjoy.
-
Itamar-is it the first time you have gone for a guitar with no fret markers? I am still undecided whether to go for fret markers or not in my custom-I realise that I rely a lot on fret markers but love the look of a less busy fretboard.

This is my first time. I have used another Mayones with no fret markers once before for about 30 minutes, though. Still, If you like the look then I would go for it. In my own experience it doesn't take much getting used to at all.
I hope this helps. :)

Not normally my sort of thing, but I do really like that.
I love the shades of Blue on it too. I also like how it's not too OTT or garish like some of those I've seen before
-
When I got a guitar with only a marker on the 12th I was concerned too, but I find you adjust pretty quick, use the sidedots and donīt really notice if the guitar has fretmarkers or not much.
Most of the time I just play. When looking at tabs it might take me like 1 or 2 sec more in the beginning really.

Thanks! I actually chose a satin to remedy that "OTT look" that makes it look like a toy (with a reasonable amount of uncertainty because I rarely see any that I like - Probably because I've only played Gibson and Ibanez satins before).
But this satin is incredible. I feels so soft and smooth on my fingers and is so 3D that it's ridiculous. Honestly, if every satin finish was like this I would only have satin finishes. It reflects perfectly.
-
very pretty!
-
I'm also liking the colour! It reminds me a bit of Steve Morse's signature model.
-
Really beautiful guitar. You don't see many stunners like this one and the Blackhawks looks right at home in it. Big congrats! :D
-
Glad to know a bare board is not too bad to get used to then-enjoy her dude!

Umm...
Oops...
That was bad...
Sorry...

Couldn't have said it better myself.
Congrats to a beautiful guitar itamar101

One thing I just wonderes about: Do you feel the maple board has a noticable effect on the sound or canīt you tell?
I hardly ever see maple board outside of classic strats and been recently wondering how they fare with other kinds of guitars.
-
Really? I spose most modern metal guitars from Jackson, Ibanez etc... mostly have rosewood or ebony boards. And of-course maple fingerboards look daft on a Gibson style guitar. I always favour (why is it trying to spell-check that? Silly american software) a maple neck/board for feel and yea, it seems to add high-end and spank/cut. Kinda like ebony but without the really fast attack. I'm sure a luthier like Jon could tell you what's actually happening.

Most guitars I see in person are either Ibbys, PRS, Gibsons, LTDs and such which as you say have rosewood or ebony. I only see maple on Strats, Teles, etc, so basecally the Fenders.
I agree that it looks really cool on LP types, but it is so rare that I have only ever seen it on the internet.
Ebony without really fast attack sounds really interresting.
-
Well, it definitely works for modern metal but most ERG do seem to have rosewood 8) Jeff Loomis uses maple and gets a sick sick sick tone. And it works on my Daemoness ;-p

possibly. I like maple on superstrats.

I couldn't really tell you, tbh. This is my first guitar with even remotely similar specs.
It's my first neck through, my first swamp-ash body, my first non-glossed maple fingerboard (that even surprises me, because I'm not a fan of gloss fingerboards) and the whole neck is maple. I'd expect it to be bright regardless of the fingerboard because of all the other woods that it consists of - the fingerboard is hardly relevant in terms of tone IMO.
That said, this guitar is quite bright unplugged and also plugged in (although I don't really attribute woods to a very big section of the plugged tone). *Flameshield on*.
Disclaimer: I do believe that wood has some effect on amplified tone - just not enough for me to justify choosing guitars/not choosing guitars based on their woods. Maybe 10%-15% of the tone.
Also, I would recommend a satin maple fingerboard to anyone. Easily the best feeling fingerboard I've ever tried.

Your guitar sounds cool as it is. I dunno what to suggest for that record the black hawks would sound great as they have a polished/heavy as sin tone but IMO they aint that versatile others may disagree.
