There's nothing like the variety of Warmoth but it's interesting that Fender have finally decided to sell bodies and necks. For some having that logo on the headstock will mean a lot.

Aaargh! Link's not working for me! :x
But I'm clearing space under my bed NOW.
Edit: Link working now. It is a very limited choice, and only the thrice-damned "Modern C" neck profile.... but it's an interesting development.

I quite like the C-shape. Most thrilled about some bodies. Two coloured ash sunburst, with routing for a neck-p90. Yummy!
-
If they make them in available in england at NOT £500 but more like £250 ish then it's a good deal, I'd certanly buy one. I really want to see custom shop birdseye maple necks though and some more high end stuff.

500.00 USD=333.774 GBP at the minute which means it'll probably get to us for about £400 a piece. So I think it's still better to go the USACG/Mark Jenny route for quality partscaster stuff?

Or Warmoth, never forget Warmoth! :P
Definitely still my favourite place for partscaster bodies.
I do actually like "real" Fender necks, when I can get the ones with a chunkier profile than the "modern C". Simply because they need less work to get them into a playable condition (assuming I ever get round to actually assembling the guitars... ). But it looks like eBay's still the place to get them.

I quite like the modern C from what I remember. Think it'd be quite an adjustment to play a Fender neck at this point, though and that's whats stopping me getting a MJtele partsguitar there a bargain at £600 odd. Guess Warmoth or USACG could build me something I'd like but it'd cost a bomb as I like pretty uncommon measurements.

USACG's necks are pretty much bespoke, and they only appear to upcharge for super thick or for graphite rods.

I ordered a neck off them once and had to send it back as it was a strat neck when I ordered a Tele neck d'oh.

They actually made you the wrong neck? Or sent someone else's neck to the wrong person? :?
-
It was def mine exactly how I ordered except for the strat heel

are you going to have to buy a bunk bed (and remove the bottom bunk) now, philly?

A special model for Philly: staple the maple...

Oh, wow just checked Mark Jennys eBay and he's now using USACG necks. Under £500 for one his kits - a Wildwood body and USAC neck finished by him. Tempted to put a Strat together.

^ do you have a link to that?
