and notice Squier have reissued it (shame its in basswood!)

Anyone have any experience with a Bass VI?

I have never seen a non-sunburst one. Interesting. I play a short scale Squire bass, quite like it. But not the pickups! I removed the single coil and replaced it with a StewMac P bass pickup.

I can't bear to watch the clip, but I am impressed by the colour and the matching headstock.

Burgundy Mist is one of my favourite custom colours. I have a 63 Strat and Bravewood 62 Jazz bass in it. I would love that bass VI. It's a shame the Squier's have different pickups. I saw that Lackland are making one too (though it's probably as much as an original!).

Phil - aside from cheaper construction, how are the Squier pickups different - original Bass VI = 3 Jaguar style single coils, Squier VI = three Jaguar style single coils? Or are you confusing the Squier VI with the Fender Pawn Shop version that has a Jazzmaster humbucker?

Sorry - I was thinking of the pawn shop version. I thought that the MIJ was the last one with the Jaguar pickups
