I've got a pair of cold sweats in my mahogany/mahogany/rosewood schecter c-1 hellraiser tuned to drop c and although I think they have a nice rich, open tone that I really like for blues, jazz and some metalcore they're just not tight enough on the low end or clear enough on chords for what I play (djent) at least in this guitar through my amp (Peavey valve king) there's just too much bass and not enough midrange to help things cut through. I don't have any complaints about the neck pickup but I'm definitely looking for something new in the bridge.

Cold Sweat neck and Aftermath bridge is a popular combination for djent.

Another pickup with really nice midrange in mahogany is the Rebel Yell. If you want ceramic you could look at the Painkiller too.

With a high gain amp like the Valve King, I think the Rebel Yell is a good match. I would also consider the Black Dog bridge.

Yeah I'm thinking about going with the rebel yell because I think I'd miss the openness of the Cold Sweat if I went with something like an AM or a PK. Before I pull the trigger I'll probably try a C Bomb I have laying around to see if it has the cut I'm looking for.

Smart move, I think you'll probably find it works fairly well.

Hopefully. I had it in a really cheap B.C. Rich at one time and I remember it having this incredible three-dimensional sound. Easily the best lead tone I'd heard on one of my own guitars and was still pretty clear on chords under a lot of gain not to mention tight as all hell. Again this was in a POS agathis bodied guitar so I'm really curious to see how it'll work out in my schecter.

I use C Bomb in bridge position in nearly identical guitar (mahogany body with flame maple top/mahogany neck with palisander fingerboard) and it works the best. In my opinion one of the best choices for those spec when you wanna achieve good distorted as well as clean sounds. Give it a try without the doubt.
