They went into my son's 1978 ES-335, and they are amazing sounding pickups. What a great tone he gets on his guitar. Glad I got ahold of these ones.
-
Excellent. Can't wait to install mine. What options did you choose on the pickups?
-
It was brushed nickel, unpotted, and 4 way conductor. The guitar was made with a coil tap switch that year.
-
Looks great. I went with brushed nickel too, but potted, also 4 conductor.
-
Great!! What guitar are you putting them on?
-
Congrats! Definitely the sort of guitar for AII-magnets.

Am going to put them in my Les Paul Custom - but will have to wait for Christmas as at the moment there are 5000 miles between the guitar and the pickups!
-
Thanks Telerocker! And Lamp that looks like a job for Santa to make things happen Christmas time, good luck man.
-
Nice guitar mate, mine have gone in my LP great pickups liking them even more than my Mules which I took out. Brushed nickel, unpotted and 2 braided wiring for mine
-
Super sweet looking guitar. I'm looking foreward to hearing some 10th. anniversary clips :D
-
Thanks Keith! That's a gourgeus Les Paul you got there. Thanks Mr Air man! I'll ask the kid to make a clip once he settles down in college.
-
I have seen a few sets of these on ebay the past few days. been curious about their sound. I'm surprised the bkp site doesnt have a write up on them even though they were a limited run.
-
Just got mine - set #64 - still debating which guitar to put them in. I got the nickel finish. I might put them in my Zemaitis clone, but that has a great set of BK pickups in it already! I might end up like Philly and just have them for looking at!

In that case just send 'em to me and I'll find a home for the little buggers :D

I'm sure I'll find a home for them (even if I have to buy a new guitar!). I am thinking that perhaps they would be a good set to put in my anniversary Lion.

I TOO AM IN LOVE WITH THESEE ANNIVERSARY PUPS !!!!!
i PLAY MOSTLY vINTAGE GEAR BUT HAVE A FEW newer GUITARS....i HAVE A 2002 es-335 ltd edition w/P-90's
2 LP FLORENTINES and a couple of newer build your own's...aside from that I have thinned down from 36 guitars to 22 Vintage originals and 3-5 newer guitars.
There is a reason I truly believe that the OLDER WOOD, quality electronics, quality meatl used in the string manufacturing and of course a half dozzen Black face FENDER amps, from a Vibro Champ.Princeton Reverb, 57 Tweed Deulxe
and Vibrolux.( I still have a 66 Super Reverb but at my age no way am I lifting a 92 LB amp !!!!!)
ALso inthat mix are 3 AMPEGS.....2 REVERB ROCKETS and GEMINI 2
ANd last but far from least oneof my favs a 66 BLUESBREAKER.....
Over the years I have searched for the tone I have in my older LP;'s in my favorite LP FLORENTINE in a gorgeous Honey Burst....
Having come with 490/498's it sounded great but I am in pursuit of the ultimate tonally flexible guitar similar to what I can do with my 335 or 345......play anything from CLASSICAL TO DEF METAL TO JAZZ..... but with all that MY NUMBER 1 is my 1955 LES PAUL.( my only regret is when I bought it the old man had TWO 1955's the other was BLACK...MUCH MORE COLLECTABLE AND RARER !!!!!
But i was in love with the GOLD TOP and it was like BRANDY NEW....
I had removed the 490/498's in the FLORENTINE for 57 classics and even used the 4 conductor,,,, a waste of time.
With Gibson;s attempt to get rid of any noise they have LOST the TONE out of a few different Humbuckers and there single coils as well....Having a reverse would P-980 in the bridge may cut back oj noise but if hooked up properly the noise is so minimul you'll never even notice once ya begin playing.... but NOPE they are destined to ruin there P-90's
Then of course I tried Seymour Duncan Antiquity 59's....NO GOOD, I tried LOLLAR"S...NOPE..... I was stricking out and getting to the point I was about to drop 4grand on a set of early 60's PAFS/
Than I got the email about the new 10 anniversary pups, after some reading and having my buddy STEVE D (38th beatle)
talk to TIm I ended up calling him and when he explained to me the deatil and expertise and quality of materials to assemble these I must say I was more than intrigued.
It was BARE KNUCKLES that made me finally LIKE my st-RAT......I even had a 57 back in the early 70's and sold it for 750.00 !!!!!!
ALL TOGETHER i WOULD SAY i HAVE 10 AX;S LOADED WITH bARE kNUCKLES
WHAT makes Bare Knuckels stand above it;s competition is there warranty...... TIM is the ONLY pup dealer that understands you have no way of telling if you like em unitl you plug em in your ax in your amp and play it with your style.
So basically sound bytes are nice but even getting that tone will be hard.
Just befoere installing these I took another LP FLORENTINE 1995 that had early 60;s PAF:S in it and recorded a couple songs.....ya know ones that make the geetar stand out like RUMBLE BY LINK WRAY, Lonesometown, Pirate love and CUMMINGS PRISON FARM.....all very cool and very bluesy yet rocky blues songs !1!!
WE used a Russian version of a Vitamin Q but instead of going to a .047 as I do with P-90's I went even lower to WARM up the ax and get rid of the briteness.
Also wiring it 50's syle is KEY HERE along with TONE TIP #33 from Gibson where it reccomends you LOWER YOUR PUPS and raise your action and change from 10's to 11 strings witha newly cut bone nut.
Usually I make changes very small ata tome so I can tell what did what....but in this case I had already done most of that and it was the pups I needed to upgrade.
At the time I had a set of STORY MONDAY:S in it which now will end up in a Studio.
The FLORENTINE is gorgeous, roller bridge all TOP OF THE LINE....LIKE A GIBSON SHOULD BE !!!!!
WITHIN 30 minutes I was conditioning the neck and installing new DR true blues 11's....... Jimmie Vaughn turned me onto these but he uses 9's..They are prestretched and are NO FRILLS....NO SPECIAL SAUCE or special packaging.
So I was ready have done a fuill set up and hit it with my Virtuoso polish n cleaner this ax looked like it was outof the box NEW !!!!!!
Well all I can say is BBBBBRRRRRRRAAAAAAVVVVVVVVOOOOOO to TIM and the GUYS is R & D !!!!!!!!!
As i SAID i HAD ALREADY TAPED SOMETHING THROUGH THE DELUXE REVERB....so i PLUGGED IN AND JUSt HIT AND e CHORD AND RIGHT AWAY......I WAS HAPPY 8) 8)
About 45 minutes later I played a few of my own and now was into some of my favorite other songs and it was in those songs I could tell I had nailed the tone I wanted ...finally !!!!! :D :D :D
aFTER A LONG VERSION OF "LOVE IN VAIN", STREEET FIGHTING MAN" "SYMPATHY FOR THE DEVIL"PARACHUTE WOMAN"
closing out with I GOT THE BLUES ( for you) and DEAD FLOWERS
TIM I have at least 9 sets and a few single pups of yours and 5 years ago Never heard of BARE KNUCKLES , I'll be honest I was a KINMAN, FRALIN, man....maybe a BIL LAWRENCE in a tele and Larry Dimarrzio had made some great pups back in the 70;ps and someof them are great as well.
But I came hear to NOT just THANK YOU but to PRAISE YOU on reaching the ULTIMATE REPRODUCTION of a TRUE PAF HUMBUCKER made in 57 !!!!!!!!!!
i WISH YOU WERE LOCATED IN NYC SO i COULD INTERN FOR YOU,....EVEN AT THE AGE OF 58 i WOULD DO IT FREE JST FOR THE KNOWLEDGE !!!!!
Not to metnion just the tone but guys the covers on these are GORGEOUS, far from tacky and in NICKEL they will Fade nicely.....
If TIM has no more I would suggest BRIBERY to get him to make ya a set ....lol
From a guy who buys old pups to put in new guitars I can Honestly say the most revered treasure out there the PAF is now available from you BRANDY NEW ready to go !!!!
YOU have my full trust in your word and will be in touch to order something close to them with someof my won ideas.
Till then THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOU DEDICATION AND PASSION YOU HAVE for your job
you loving your job has made mine of writing songs with great sound/tone much easier....
keep it up......i HAVE MORE $$ INVESTED INTO YOUR PUPS THAN SOME GUYS HAVE INTO THERE NUMBER 1 AX !!!!!
Thanks

FELINE....
I have had a BAD year.....so far 2013 has had a heart procedure, a cancer scare, and lost my Mom to lung cancer in APril.
SO playing was put aside as I struggled to survive through all the cr@p !!!!
Amazing the fools who come forward asking for cr@p when someone dies.
