Title: Dean Razorback 255 7 string
Post by: WillemThorr on September 15, 2013, 02:11:36 PM
Hi,

I own a Dean Razorback 255 7 string, i recently switched it's floyd rose special bridge for a floyd rose 7 string original tremolo bridge, and all i have to say is that it was a massive improvement. Now i am thinking about switching it's stock EMG 707 pickups for a BKP Aftermath set, since i am not found of active pickups.

I would like to know your opinions on this change, if this change is trully worthile for this guitar.

i had a schecter hellraiser with 707s and i personally HATED them. i know a lot of people do like the aftermaths but from what i hear that are pretty much good for metal and thats it. there are a few different "metal" pickups in the BK lineup that might be worth checking out. what sort of stuff do you play?

I play death metal mostly, also some thrash and power metal, i really want this guitar to be a cutting edge for metal, also Vogg from decapitated uses a Aftermath in his custom made Ran Thor

Where did you hear that? What is it you don't like about about the EMG's?
