this is my gibson les paul classic. i recently changed some of the hardware to make it look more like a LP custom. and i'll be fitting it with some rebel yells soon. just curious. do you think it would look better with gold covered pickups to make it looks more traditional, or black ones to accent some of the other hardware? i was also thinking maybe Black covers with gold screws. i think that would be neat to accent both the black and gold on my guitar.
and just for the hell of it, this is what it looked like before.

I like it!
I vote black with gold poles.
-
Black with gold poles or all out gold for me.
-
Gold hardware is not really my cup of tea. Personally I would brush of the gold layers and go for nickel covers or zebra's.
But I assume you want to keep the gold parts. In that case I concur with the others: black with gold polepieces.
-
i didnt mind the nickel hardware but i REALLY dont like nickel pickup covers.

you need to think about sound more than how it looks,
the gold covered pickups would look really good I think, but black with gold screws would also look good, the sound would be very different though on both. I'd go for the covered p/ups because I prefer the slightly mellower sound.
-
If you're sure you want covers, I think black with gold screws but if it was me, I'd get zebras.
-
How about Gold Battleworn?

When I said black I meant black covered. Not uncovered with black

I never Liked zebra personally.

They look nice for sure but I like the cleaner look to my guitars

I get it now, in that case, undoubtedly gold

This looks cool

This looks cool
yeah , mine would only have one row of poles obvious but i think it would look pretty cool. with that black/gold combo
-
You could always ask for twin rows of screws or bolts.
-
I think it would be cool if you changed the knobs from black speed to gold speed, and had gold pickups. It would give it that Les Paul Supreme look, minus the flamed maple.

the les paul supremes look lovely but i've always been partial to the custom look :)
-
Personally, I would go with open black coils - the standard really. On the other hand, zebra or gold covers would look good as well.

I actually just posted my order to bkp for black covers with gold screws as well Pots and caps

Good choice. Hope to see pics soon! :D

yeah, i was an ass and ordered them late friday night so the order hasnt even been touched by BKP yet but i can't wait to get them.
question. when i got my first BKP, the order went out very fast, shipped over seas in a day or 2 and got to a shipping plant in New York and it took over a week for me to get the order when i'm only a state or 2 away from New York. is that normal for you guys?

Nope, but I'm in Holland. I got my pickups in two days (at home).

lucky.. hopefully this doesnt happen again.

I got the silver covers and the LP standard dials and replaced the truss rod cover on my Classic with an unbranded one to look similar to a vintage LP. I also have a Classic before they switched to the metal machine heads used on the standard, and also just like yours, I have a litle more flame in the wood than most Classics as well.
I think I like what you did with yours better though...
I also put Rebel Yells in mine too. Good call

just got them in today! they will definitely look great in there. can't wait to hear how they sound.
and this is actually the 3rd LP classic i've owned. i had another cherry burst model that i sadly dropped on concrete and $%ed up pretty bad. it was a great guitar but the finish on it was a bit more orange. than red. and i like the red better. and i also bought a black one in very good condition from a friend for SUPER cheap ($500) to help him out with some bills. but i later sold it to fund my strat project and got $1100 for the LP. i felt a little guilty...

They look good!

hell yeah they do. i'm excited
