Title: Best hardcore/thrash crossover band ever
Post by: Dave Sloven on October 06, 2013, 12:36:16 PM
Okay I love D.R.I. as much as the next guy, but seriously in terms of consistency and sheer amount of killer tunes R.D.P. have to be the best.  Check out this video of their 25th anniversary concert back in 2006:

Still going strong after 30 years now ...

If you are wondering how to get that sound from a BKP I found I could get close with an A-Bomb in my SG

When I saw the title of this thread, I thought 'DRI'. :)

I will check this out, but you're talkin mighty big if you say they are better than DRI!!

I'm a fan of DRI too but I think RDP have the edge on them ...

Also RDP keep making albums!

If you like DRI check out Pasadena Napalm Division:

I preferred DRI pre-Crossover.

I preferred DRI pre-Crossover.

I tend to agree.  That's another reason why I think RDP is a better crossover band than DRI, because DRI's best stuff is Dealing With It and earlier.

Here's the recent RDP DVD with English subtitles

I'm not sure I can actually think of any hardcore/thrash crossover bands, to be honest, never mind who's the best....

Would Corrosion of Conformity count?  Of Life of Agony?

Some great bands I've never heard of (except DRI of course) and some real-deal old school stage diving.  Aww man, take me back home again  :D

Posted by ChrisDude on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 8:00 PM (PST)

Brazilian crossover thrash/hardcore punk legends Ratos de Porão announced on their official website that they have set Século Sinistro as the title of their anticipated new album, which they began recording a month ago. The album, which is expected for a 2014 release, will contain 12 tracks and is said to be including classic elements of punk, metal and hardcore.

Ratos de Porão last released the No Money No Englishcompilation album a year ago. The band has not released an album with new material since 2006′s Homem Inimigo Do Homem.

Oh hell yeah! Now this is a great thread!

Here's some more classic '80s hardcore for you, this one from the UK:  live footage of Heresy!!

The tall guitarist is Mitch Dickinson (of Unseen Terror), who was in Heresy at that time
