Title: Wedding Band Recommendations?
Post by: Gizmo on November 01, 2013, 11:02:50 AM
Hi guys.

I got engaged recently and I am investigating decent bands for my wedding. Does anyone know any really great bands who they'd recommend? I know they get booked up in advance but the wedding is Sept 2014  so i have a while. There are websites that are geared up for hiring bands but aparts from a couple of videos and recorded demos its really hard to tell how good they are. Looking at how much they cost on these websites i think we can afford to get a large decent band but this makes or breaks the party.

Oxfordshire location.
Variety of music from pop to rock hits to get people dancing.
Budget < £2k

Anyone experienced really good covers band recently ?

Thanks

Apparently Blue can be hired dirt cheap these days.

I booked these guys for my wedding this year, they have a great repetoire, are very professional and the lead singer has a great voice (they did the Jeff Buckley version of hallelujah during the evening and it was immense).

They will also learn a song for your first dance for no extra charge.

Also on Facebook (not that I know anything about Facebook) under "Rockit band", apparently.

I don't know the band, but I work with the drummer's girlfriend and she says they're happy to travel to Oxfordshire or further afield.

They'll also learn a song for the first dance, do your DJ-ing etc if you want them to.

If you want to contact them directly rather than through the agency, you can call Ant (aka Sully) on 07805 976105.

When would you need to book by?

I'm just starting up a wedding band with people ive been in bands before and others who have been in very well known tribute bands. Its female fronted but between us we can play a lot and are willing to learn pretty much any thing so the bigger our repertoire the better even if you want some thing a little/very different its not a problem old or new pop, metal, jazz whatever.

Message me if youre interested no pressure it would be under 2k more like around 1.5k with no extra charges and could play between 1-3 hours.

We can do four sets, from Stevie Wonder to Bruno Mars, from Adele to Beyoncé. Hornsection included.
We're in the southwest of Holland though!
