Title: Pickup For Agile AL 2000
Post by: chanmusicprod on November 15, 2013, 06:08:04 AM
Hello, I have a Agile 2000, Les Paul body, solid Mahogany, Maple Top, Mahogany Neck with rosewood fretboard, low tuned to A standard (i used a seven string before using this so i took the first string out and bought some Circle K string to have the correct tension for the low tuning) I play rhythm guitar in a melodic hardcore band (mostly allot of palm muting, punk strumming and very very little djenty single string stuff) I play through a 6505 and a Mesa Oversized cab. We do have some full chords that need to be detailed, but i am guessing this is not an issue with any BKP.

My sound, I cant have muddiness but need a good solid low end and pick attack without being too harsh/thin. I like giving dynamics to my picking from softer/normal to hard picking to get those palmutes sounding punchy.

I was thinking on the Black Dog (for the extended low end and not too hot) and the idea of nailbombs seemed interesting, but read they were too bassy/muddy for LP bodies. other considerations were rebel yell.

Any suggestions???
what ever decision I make I will upload a sample for you guys. Thanks!

I think you're on the right track but I can't imagine anyone thinking a Nailbomb is muddy. Here's some alnico Nailbombs in a Les Paul:

I hope to God mine sound that muddy in my Vintage V100 when I get them!!
