Title: help !: miracle man or juggernout for my new custom? ( wood specs inside )
Post by: chopeth on November 22, 2013, 11:27:30 AM
Hi ! I just ordered a new custom guitar with the following wood specs:

- Body: mahogany unchambered. Thick flame maple top master grade ( 1,8 cm aprox ), and thin maple top back master master grade ( 5 mm ).
- neck: rosewood thick 3 pieces + 2 stripes flame maple.
- ebony fingerboard.
- headstock back rosewood.

I look for a thick, tight and clear sound so im between miracle man and juggernout...which one do you recommend me?

Thanks !!

personally id say the juggernaut would be better. seems like it might be an overall dark sounding guitar (but not overly dark) and from what i hear, the miracle man is on the darker side, while the jug is sort of in the middle. you wouldnt want to end up with something super dark.

i may be wrong. i'll let the others throw in their 2 cents but this is what i believe to be true.

Doesn't sound like it would be that dark to me.  The maple in the neck , maple top, and the ebony fingerboard would brighten it up. Miracle Man should be okay.  Some have said that the MM is tighter than the JN.  Just depends on your style and taste

i think i have got more maple overall than mahogany , do you really think its going to be dark? I have both pickups but in different type of guitars, thats way im afraid of choosing wrong...i have the jaggernout in swamp ash body / maple neck and the miracle man was in a LP style guitar so i dont know which one is better for this one...my only fear with the miracle man is that too much maple would make the highs a bit harsh...

If you have the pickups already, can you swap them around?

the miracle man is known for sounding great in maple guitars, so having more maple isn't a problem

yeah i guess i didnt see how much maple you were really using. i think either would work well. but just a preference on what sort of heavy sound you're hoping to achieve

Good choice, the Miracle Man is awesome and should be perfect.

how would Miracle Man perform in all mahogany body (with maple top)/ mahogany neck with rosewood guitar? That question stays in my mind for a long time, cause I would like to put MM set into another Dean Cadillac.

Already have one Cadillac with CBomb bridge, CS neck and found even ceramic Nailbomb quite dark.
Would MM be darker than Cbomb?

cheers.

Everyone warned me about putting one in my Explorer, people thought it would be too dark.  In the end I went with an A-Pig, which is also pretty dark

I had the exactly same type of guitar ( in terms of woods ) and, if us a 6 string, fits perfectly but in the 7th strings , the 7th is a bit dark, but is thick and tight as hell.

isn't the cadillac pretty much a les paul with a dean ML cutaway and head?
that should sound great
I don't know how different it would sound from the other caddy, though
I'm not sure it would be less dark
if you're worried about that, you better go with the cold sweat

yes, that`s the Cadillac, something like Les Paul has a baby with Explorer type of thing.

The thing is that I absolutely love the sound of MM set, and want to nail that Zakk Wylde type of sound, so MM would be perfect for that.

On the other hand all clips on BKP website were recorded with Les Paul so quite dark guitar indeed, and MM set coped with it no problem.

But in general, which pickups are darker in reality? MM or Ceramin Nailbomb? According to stats and EQ chart, both have same amount of bass.

I would expect the CNB to be slightly darker
but they're different guitars anyway
