Title: Neck Nailbomb in bridge position?
Post by: lamp on December 04, 2013, 08:58:54 AM
I don't read much about the NB neck pup much on the forum, so not sure how much response this will get...but anyway...
I'm swapping a few pup around in my guitars and based on what I plan to do it looks like I'm going to be left with a Nailbomb and a Mississippi Queen - both neck pups.
Any idea what a NB neck pup might sound like in the bridge position?  Wondering whether I could use it with the MQ.  They would be going into a Les Paul copy.
Might be a fun experiment anyway!

well, it's definitely hot enough for that
too scooped for my taste, though, but I imagine it can sound good in something like a SG, so maybe it works in a les paul too
I'd expect something twangy and focused with a lot of articulation

Yes!  I'm pretty sure I'm going to give it a try.

Thanks for the info, I was hoping that you would see this question as you are one of the few people I have seen talk about the NB neck and also have experimented with neck pups in the bridge.  I'll report back when it's done, though it is at the end of the list of the swaps/rewiring I plan to do so probably will be in the new year.
