I want a set of headphones to use with my Boss GT-8 (as my amp colours the sound too much , and is a Micro pube for now anyway).
I have some Ultimate Ears Pro in ear monitors but am looking for some full can headphones not too costly to use and not worry about too much.
Am pretty clueless here so please any advice. Pretty flat response would be ideal to get the true sound from the GT-8.
I will be prowling Evilbay so anything in $100 100 gbp range should be affordable when put on there.
Thanks,
Nick

Thus far have been recommended AKG K240 600 Ohm Monitor and Sennheiser HD-280.
Need more opinions/choices please :)

I've got some Beyerdynamic DT100 (400 Ohm) headphones, which are really good, decent sound quality and comfortable for those long sessions. They are £80 UKP new.
There's also a 16 Ohm version for use with low output sources (not sure which would be best for the GT-8).

I have no idea about headphones really, but I just wanted to say that you have a kickass avatar Dakine
Arent Senheiser and Koss meant to be good?
-
Thanks Muttley
am totally new to the "pro" impedance etc. arena. Need to study more on frequencies/response etc. and learn more about sound.
I have heard MANY people using phones and powered monitors with the GT-8 to be able to use the amp sims.
I still want an AMP (when return to UK) but for now want more than my micro pube can give so some phones would be ideal/cheap solution.
Will look into them.
Any others to look at guys?

I've used Beyer DT-100s for years now, can't go wrong with 'em.

Cool,
no DT100 on Evilbay though (just one new set in UK at $$$$$$$ price). :(
Seem the AKG's and Senn. I mentioned are more plentiful=cheap on Evilbay.
Any other recommendations?
I TRUST you guys but cannot afford much right now :( so gotta be a steal :)

Tom,
sad thing is the monkey "shreds" better than me ROFLMAO
-
I would go with Sennheiser or Grado Labs. Both are open ear, tho.
-
Sennheisers are good. I have one. Comfy and good sound.
-
I like Sennheisers too though the Beyers are known to be reliable and comfortable .
-
Thanks guys
Heard ALOT about Grado when researching for my ipod. Went with twin speaker Ultimate Ears though.
Sennheiser look to be plentiful which may hopefully make them also affordable.
Will let ya know how I get on.

I got my Sennheiser HD600's very cheap but the only problem with them is that they expose cheap parts of your system, so they might be overkill. Sony phones are now very popular amongst dj's and have a nice hefty feel about them.
-
I use a set of Sennheiser HD200's. Great headphones.
-
Sony MDR 7506 or MDR 7509. (MDR stand for "recording"... it has nothing to do with those old MiniDisc-era headphones...).
Those are very musical.
The first one is at about 100 US$. Extremely good price/quality deal IMO.

"Ash"
lol, thats exactly the set I am looking at/bidding on as we write :)
Read really good reports on them for sound/longevity and found a nib set cheap (for now, fingers crossed).
BTW, LOVE your avatar "God Bless Phil, R.I.P."

Thanks pal.
The riffing chimp is quite cool :)
