Yamaha announced, and a wholly owned subsidiary the Line 6. It is to get all of the shares of 6 Line in 2014 the end of January, with plans to complete a wholly owned subsidiary. This is It is a surprise. Wireless and related products guitar-related products, including POD, feel good supplement product line of Yamaha will, but how live / SR-related products ...... or would become. It is attention to the trend of the future.

I wasn't expecting that, would expect line 6 to be worth quite a bit with all the pod and spider sales

very interesting news

makes total sense as well - Yamaha have a very good reputation with their guitars/basses and also keyboard and synths, but weirdly they don't have hardly any guitar related tech like Roland/Boss or Korg/Vox.

Hopefully this means that the quality of Line 6 stuff improves.

I have a Pocket Pod but I never use it, I find it to be useless.  I have thought about getting a Line 6 wireless unit but I will wait to see if a better model is released.

Doubtful. L6 will be a wholly owned subsidiary, basically still running independently but getting their checks from Yamaha.

Would be nice, though ... Anything I have ever bought from Yamaha has lasted ages!
