Some of you would of seen that I had my PRS Singlecut up for trade. Well as of yesterday I traded it for an Ibanez JS1000 + cash.
The PRS was a fantastic guitar but I found myself not really playing it. I think it may have been something to do with preference for double cutaways and humbuckers.
Some one offered me their JS1000 which is a guitar I've wanted ever since I became a fan of Joe Satriani at 12 years old.

I'll take a proper picture of mine later but it's Burnt Transparent Blue but not really burnt. So it's more of a transparent blue.
Absolutely awesome neck. Very similar to my Strat but a bit more C shaped.

Nice 1.
Obviously Id've preferred you went for my trade for your PRS but c'est la vie

Cool, although I'm always going on that Ibanez isn't my cup of tea the JS models appeal to me more than most, especially the tremolo-free ones. The body shape's much nicer than an RG.
From your comments about the neck, I guess it's a bit less skinny than a typical Ibanez?
-
That's right Phil. It's a little slimmer than the Wide Fat neck on my CE22. Maybe similar to a Wide Thin

Excellent 8) I quite fancy one! Which bridge does yours have?

Love it, that's a great guitar. I think the JS and PRS's DGT are my two favourite signature guitars (if we don't count a Les Paul as a signature instrument). I like the colour too. You may find the Fred humbucker takes a little getting used to. I like it but it is an acquired taste.

I really like the pickups. A little less output than I usually go for but big distorted chords sound very nice and clear with great harmonics. It's made me rethink my taste on pickups.

Comes with a Lo Pro. After a lot of tinkering and screw tightening it holds it tuning very well

I like the Fred pickup too, it was one of my favourites in pre-BKP days. It's not fat or powerful, but it's bright without being annoyingly thin sounding (that said, it was in my SG-X and might have sounded thin if there was a neck HB to compare with)
I still have that old Fred which is destined for my PRS SE EG, should I ever get round to it....

Lovely guitar I think. I like Joe Satriani's gear much more than his music. His signature Marshall also seems really nice.

Totally off topic: did you ever do anything with that MegaDrive?

Still got it somewhere, I think. Another pickup I really liked (in a mahogany guitar, anyway).
That was in the SG-X for a while too, it was good with the series/parallel switch. But I can't imagine what neck pickup would match it.

Cool guitar! Something is miss my Jem I had in the nineties, just to do some extreme tremparts again.
