Title: Peerless Cremona
Post by: Woderwick on January 01, 2014, 09:40:56 PM
Ello.

I have had this most excellent box for a while. A great sounding instrument, but I think the Epi 57 bucker could go.

HSP  neck Manhattan seems to be the smart money.

Anyone tried this combination?

Regards

Rod

I don't own one, but it is absolutely a great pickup for jazz and all kinds of cleans. Does some great bluestones too.

I own one and can agree. The most natural voice I have ever heard out of a PU. To clear, sweet and transparent...my god. Also handles drive shockingly well I find. While I play cleans most of the time (or juuuuust broken up) with this one I sometimes enjoy to crank the gain to what is metal on my Tiny Terror and do some old school nasty hard rock riffs. This is on the neck PU mind you! Gain solos also work with a very unique flavour.
Anyhow, if you like natural sweet cleans, this one kills it, skins it and wears that pelt. Ok, that analogy might sit better for metal sounds but you get what I mean ;)

My opinion is mainly based on the clips of Feline.

Thanks, I have an '81 AS200 with a pair of unpotted SMs for the bluesy stuff (think Lucille type sounds) so it's the cleans for this one.

Birthday on the 13th, time for some sweet talking.

Best wishes.
