Title: ORIGINAL FLOYD VS FLOYD ROSE SPECIAL.
Post by: aidilomorello on January 04, 2014, 09:43:10 AM
I was wondering if i should switch my floyd rose special to a original floyd?

I have a floyd rose special on my Schecter Damien Elite , for me it is doing a pretty good job  , but ,
is there any difference between floyd rose special and original floyd.

The difference is in the materials (zinc vs steel saddles, hardened plate and posts, etc).

That being said, if the special isn't giving you problems, I would put those 270 or so euros into a bkp set + a tremol-no. Just my 2 cents.

Having seen both trem types you may find that the best thing you can do is to get one of the increased size sustain blocks in brass or steel
Costs a bit but it will beef up the sound of the guitar in a really nice way

FU tone does the brass ones and we do a cold rolled steel one
I have the steel one on a couple of my own floyds and also on a vintage strat trem and it made a world of difference to me - guitar sounds bigger and more like a hardtail  would
