Hi, my first post here is asking for an advice for pu change in my esp horizon nt 1
Atm there are active sd blackouts installed which are absolutely brutal and have a little bit too much output, also not too fond about the clean sound.
I thought about changing to active pu's and thoug about either the painkiller or aftermath.
I would also want to change the pots and by doing this get the possbility of coil splitting the pickups (atm it has no coil split function)
What pickup would suit that guitar best? Music style will be mostly metal, maybe some hard rock with a bit less gain.
Is there an option to order a set together with potis as well as other stuff that is needed? condensators, wiring, maybe a complete kit so everything fits?
I am playing an ENGL fireball, G System with 4 cable Method and an addidional Bad Monkey attached to the G System for crunch tones.
Thnks in advance for any advice, comment or help.
regards
johannes

I don't have any direct experience of SD Blackouts but I do have some experience of EMG active pickups and with those, the pot values are considerably greater than those used for passive pickups so a switch to passives would probably require a change of pots anyway.
As for choice of pickup, there's a lot of love on this forum for the Rebel Yells and they may well fit your requirements.
