I've just bought and aged a mint 62 pickguard from Fender for my early 60's style olympic white relic strat. Before I had a white Callaham single ply PG but I think mint is better suited for this type of guitar.
Pic of it (please forgive the poor lighting):

I'm waiting for a tone cap (NOS ceramic) to arrive to put the guitar together and take some proper pictures...
What do you think? Any fans of mint here?

classic combo innit! i love the look of a mint green guard
-
I do like mint, and your ageing looks good!
But personally I must confess I'm a fan of tortoise and pearloid, even though they're generally not period-correct. I quite like gold anodised too, for a '50s style Strat, although I've heard the metal scratchplate may sometimes cause problems.

A mint pickguard on an Olympic white body is one of my favourite Strat combinations. A fine choice. I demand pics when it's assembled!

+1 to that, it's a beautiful combo!

mine is for sure more beaten-up looking. Like a guitar that seen many battles.

Never even thought about putting a mint scratch plate into my '62 reissue until I saw this! And now I must have one!! :)

 When I got my Robert Cray Strat, about 6 or 7 years ago, you said:
I hope I can get a nice guitar like that for my 80th birthday! PDT_008
When's your 81st? :P

if interested pm me and I'll let you know who I bought it from. I got mine through a seller in the US (ebay). It was very well priced and it arrived in a week. (about £23 incl. delivery)

Were the candles setting the mood? :P That pickguard looks classy.
-
I live the mint pick guards- I have one on my Sonic Blue 1960's r/i and I think it looks fab.
-
Oh yes, it's gonna look cute with the new guard on it. The white one doesn't quite do it for me.
That new one looks a lot like the ones they were putting on the 60s Roadworns when I got mine a few years back.
-
could not wait for the cap to arrive. Installed an old bee cap that I also like and put on the new PG. It now looks and sounds great. Pics coming...
-
pics taken today... cannot take a good photo to sve my life, but hey! I think you get the idea.

That's far better! 8)

thanks buddy! I agree.
BTW the 0.01 uF bee sounds great (it has drifted upwards slightly, it now reads 0.015 exactly). My guitar is quite thick sounding so a lower value makes a lot sense to help with tone, especially in positions 2 and 4. Quack-king!

Looks good! I'm trying to remember what those saddles you've got are...?

Raw Vintage. IMO well worth the money!

Yep that works for me too- much more in keeping with the vibe.

I said before that an Olympic White Strat with a minty pickguard was among my favourite things and I'm not about to change my mind now. That looks great.
-

-
Oh yes... that looks good :D

Great looking strat, man.
