So… I wanted a booster. And I knew some of the guys I like (Keith Merrow, Misha Mansoor), so I gave it a shot. I ordered it in August, but I got some complications (as I live in France and the dude lives in the USA). Anyway, I received it a month ago, and I took my time to test it thoroughly before writing a review.
So well… It kills. It's simply beautiful. It makes the chords that much more aggressive. The sound is more focused (in the mids) and tighter.
It's the perfect weapon for the low-tuned guitar player.
And when you solo, the sustain is endless, the sound is creamy, tubular… Etc… I can't get enough of it.
I've got a clip that shows the differences between the dry and processed sound. Here you go: https://soundcloud.com/arthur-laborderie/riff-222-comparaison-protone (https://soundcloud.com/arthur-laborderie/riff-222-comparaison-protone)
By the way, I've got the limited edition pedal: it's the "Dead Pony". I'll take a few pictures, because the artwork is hilarious :D

Have you had a booster previously? if so how does it compare? thanks
-
I haven't unfortunately. Except if you think that the Ibanez Gemini is a booster. In that case, it is considerably better. And by a long shot.

Ok no worries - i was thinking more compared to something like the Maxon OD808

Never heard of this unit before. Will check it out. Congrats, glad you like it!
