First some guitar facts:
Swamp Ash body
Bolt on maple neck with rosewood fingerboard
22 frets
Wilkinson tremolo
Only 1 volume knob
1 Bridge pickup (SD TB-4)
010-052 strings tuned down 2 whole steps (C tuning)
I want to come close to Billy Gibbons guitar tone on the "Rhythmeen" album.Only for the songs which are tuned 2 whole steps down (C tuning). The TB-4 is too muddy on the E & A strings.Works well on the high strings.
Which BK would be the best for this kind of tone ?

I recon Abraxas would do ZZ if your guitar is bright, otherwise the Mule would get you there. Although they are nowhere near as hot as a JB.

I am glad somebody asks for the Rhythmeen tone. That is a great album - IMHO a good move back to dirty raunchy blues rock.
The guitar tones are very specific and quite varied, many probably obtained with a fuzz pedal. I don't have much experience with fuzz pedals but the one I had (a Roger Mayer Voodoo Axe) hated high output pickups so I would err on the conservative side here, especially given the low tunings. On the other hand you will want a lot of midrange for these tones which would lead to the Black Dog but that may be a bit too modern in its voicing. Abraxas or Mule, then.
Cheers Stephan

Yes, IMHO one of their best sounding records with great songs.
Very underrated album.
I´m also thinking about the Mule but I´m not quite sure.
How about the PG Blues or Stormy Monday ?
Will they tend to be too muddy because of the down tuning ?
