I've always heard that the Miracle Man is THE bridge pickup for basswood. However, I have to say that I've yet to hear an impressive demonstration of the MM (at least not one that rates $150). Seems too scooped and cold but then that could be how people dial it in.
The gentleman from Axepalace recommended the Ceramic Black Hawk due to it's warmth. I like what demos I've heard from the Black Hawk, but I don't recall any demos being basswood guitars tuned low.
Guitar is an Ibanez Prestige RG2550 tuned to B Standard or Drop A, currently with a Duncan Distortion in the bridge and a Jon Baxter PAF in the neck. I'm looking to sell my ENGL Screamer head soon but I haven't settled on what my next amp will be (possibly a used evh mini 50w) cab is a Lopoline 2x12 w/eminience v128's. I play bedroom High gain Rhythm, sometimes slow, sometimes fast, if I've been practicing.

I have a cermaic BH set in my 7 to B and a MM in my 6 that I use for drop D stuff .
I like the MM allot in the mahogany guitar I have it in . I don't think its as scooped as the charts say. the upper mids arnt really present but low mids are full . it does depend on the guitar though. i had it in 2 others before and didnt like it
I am actually getting my blackhawk set removed tonight for a SD pegasus/sentient set that arrived yesterday . I have liked the blackhawks for a year but am starting to find them a bit too hot and saturated. they also have a good whack of bass.its not muddy but theres allot of it . I wouldnt descirbe the ceramic blackhawks as having warmth . they are aggressive, hot and upfront .I'd say the opposite of warmth tone wise . and output wise I rate them allot more than warm .

By the end of the week I'll have an alnico BH set in my 7 string & a Miracle Man in my 8 string, both Ibanez RG's. I'll let you know what I think!
