Title: Metallica/Glastonbury
Post by: gwEm on July 06, 2014, 10:50:54 AM
Well I must admit I thoroughly enjoyed the debate and subsequent show. Seemed like they got a good crowd response too, so maybe the Glastonbury crowd aren't so bad.

Furthermore I have listened to Lords Of Summer and bunch of times now and think its a good tune,

It was interesting, after all the talk about them not being suited to a Glasto audience, to see them apparently going down very well - and to hear the crowd singing big chunks of "Master of Puppets"!!

Unless the TV coverage was misleading and there were only a relatively small number of Metallica fans who'd congregated near the stage, it all seemed like a resounding success.

Lars still needs to get his bloody hair sorted out.

Yeah I enjoyed it too (on TV).

Been watching Download on Sky Arts, it's pretty good too, though a bit annoying that most bands only get 1-2 songs. I suppose it'd take like 15 hours or more to show it all, though.

I thought they came across well on the telly too.

Watched part of it on TV. There was an incredibly boring band playing before them, so that worked for them as well. Nonetheless, I enjoyed it as well, and it was definitely a live performance, as Kirk played several mistakes throughout the set.

Would you be able to tell that as any different from the recorded versions?
