I've got my hands on a Sunn Model T. An original one. It's super clean inside and still has the original valves I think, which all seem fine. Tung Sol 6550's and Sovtek 12AX7's anyway. It mostly checks out but it's a bit sick and runs on US voltage currently and I haven't dug my step down transformer out to try it out yet. Also, The mains chord has no functioning earth connection, so I need to be a bit cautious before I rewire it a little.

Thought I'd stick up a photo and see who is interested in these bad boys. This is owned by a friend of mine.

Here are some guts. Proper point to point. some areas are dusty but it is really neat overall.

Proper point to point tends to be a bit chaotic looking.  People often use point to point to describe eyelet or turret construction but that's not really the same. It's actually much easier to see what's going on in here than in an amp with something like a double sided PCB! Especially if you can't take that PCB out easily and you don't have access to a schematic. urgh!

interesting amp.  I've heard of these before, mainly to do with doomy bands, but apart from them being from the '70's, I know nothing about them.  does that central jack work like jumpering the channels?  clever.  and i see it has a master volume too.  with that and the high/low volumes it's actually a bit like a Marshall Vintage Modern, although I'm sure it doesn't sound like one.  I don't think I've ever seen a truly point to point amp like that, only the odd fuzz pedal.  When you get it sorted and running I'd certainly love to hear what it sounds like, I'm sure it's epically loud :)

Yep. It's like a 4 input superlead and the centre jack does bridge the channels. The preamp topology is quite like the marshall too, although there are some differences. Big ones being the master volume and the ultra linear output.

Ever heard of the death cap? This is what happens in a US amp when it fails. This amp also only had a 2 pin mains lead and no fuse or functioning circuit breaker. Thats 120VAC on the outside of the speaker cable (obviously the whole chassis is live). The amp isn't turned on. It's just plugged into a live supply. ZAP!

Ha! most defo a bug! fixed it now though. Took out the death cap and put a 3 core mains lead on it so it's properly earthed. I've had a little play on it. Sounds really good. Quite throaty and really growly with the preamp channels in parallel and cranked. I didn't get chance to crank the master. It's really loud. Into a dummy load it did a nice 120watts clean (no meaningful power amp distortion). I'll have to try it fully cranked and maybe boosted a bit. More gain than a similar 4 input marshall.
