Oh dear oh dear !

It does, unfortunately, sound quite feasible.

I think this is an exception to the rule that two wrongs make a right

No
Haha no what?
I was agreeing with you. Maybe I have worded it wrongly or I need some form of punctuation in there to make it clearer.
Djent = wrong
Nu Metal = wrong
So the rule states that this form of music should be right.
I was saying that in this case this genre is an exception to the rule. Meaning two wrongs = extra shiteee!

Actually I f'ed up big time with that.
The sayings are two wrongs dont make a right
and two negatives make a positive...

So we're unanimous then.
I think.

Well, I rather liked a lot of that rap-djent in the links :) hailz!

Yeah I enjoyed it.

I clearly misunderstood then my true metal ally!

Last night I mic'd up my toilet and went for a shitee and piss at the same time and recorded it. It sounded really nu and djenty like mega lows and odd time sigs....the bathroom tiles created a nice ambience too. It djented.

well the rap sounds a million times better than cookie monster vocals, which i always thought were lame. that band 'Hacktivist' have a grime MC as well, rather than a cheesy hip hop style MC like many of those Nu Metal bands had. I think its original stuff, and pretty good at that.
there was some decent nu metal also, i particularly like Body Count, though not sure if they count as nu metal.. rap metal certainly.
in fact i'd say that this link has shown me, for the first time, some djent i would pay to go see live.

I like djent...

Body Count definitely weren't nu metal! They were OK though, their first (only?) album is pretty good, even if all the songs sound exactly the same.
(Major mistake getting Ernie C to produce Black Sabbath's Forbidden album, though)
Rap metal..... I have a couple of Kid Rock albums. And The Workhorse Movement. I guess Faith No More were rap metal at times, in a way.... and anyone remember Mordred? Maybe they were more funk metal. Ah, labels, labels.....

Philly. get on it!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQZIsxRHlck Body Count for 2014!!!!!!!!
lets not forget Downset https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6IQxhkVIEw
Dog Eat Dog https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3w-3iRoy58
I dont really want to mention Stuck Mojo... but anyway, in the 90's hip hop had a influence on loads of bands, whether you want to call them nu metal or something else. Biohazard could probably fit in this list.
And from recent years, my boys in Cold World https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7VRBglsoU4

Blimey, I see Body Count had loads of albums! But not the time of night to be listening to that stuff.

I actually like the new "Nu-Metal", especially when it's mixed with Tech Metal like Hacktivist. The MC's have far more skill than Fred Durst ever did. I think the problem with the first lot of Nu-Metal is that the rappers were truly the most horrific specimens to come out of any rap-related scene. It seems that these days the heavier spectrum of music is actually attracting some MC's with skill, rather than a bunch of wannabe's and honkey krackas completely bar-stewardising a type of vocal that, actually, requires a lot of linguistic dexterity.
I am by no means a fan of Hip-Hop or rap, but I can always tell that there is a lot of talent there and I wouldn't attempt it in a million years, not even in jest. As much as I hate Eminem's music, for example, I admire his ability to spit out all those syllables in a way that I can still understand what he's saying in such a small space of time.
As for mixing it with Tech Metal, well, as long as they are choosing a GOOD set of musicians to pair up with, there's no reason this shouldn't work. I think Hacktivist are going to be leading the way in this resurgence and, more importantly, improvement in the progression of Nu-Metal into pastures new.

Well that is just picking on the wrong folk. For whatever part of rap that guy is like the worst example.
If we wanne talk skill in rappers how about Tech N9ne? Worked with Serj Tankian and others, widely respected, technically impecible...and for f*cks sake, he is playing Knotfest (yeah, the Slipknot festival). His part in this cyther is a showcase for flow variation (his part is till 1:50). http://youtu.be/MXIc03slT64 (http://youtu.be/MXIc03slT64)
Or the one with Serj http://youtu.be/t4kkzsRJObE (http://youtu.be/t4kkzsRJObE)
Or take Saul William, a poet, rapper, and more. Music on this track is also Serj. I think those are some great lyrics.

Finally, if you want to hear some heavy lyrics go to Aesop Rock, that guy has a vocabulary...oh jeesh.

IŽd put those down as skilled musicians and artists.

I just remember 15 years ago when I was still at school getting into metal and every one was into nu metal and pop punk or dance/pop.
I couldnt understand why I couldnt turn on Kerrang or pick up a metal mag and read about Metallica, Sepultura, Tool. Thank God Pantera were in the mainstream championing metal though.
I just couldnt be arsed to listen to shitee drop tuned riffs, no guitar solos, rap and lyrics about a dodgy uncle playing with your bumhole and pictures of the bands pulling dodgy hand signs or with severed dolls head etc.
The darkest and most shameful period of heavy metal IMO....at least it made me look hard for 'alternative metal' bands though
-
I absolutely despise djent and metalcore...
