I haven't tried this (yet!), but this was the site another techie recommended to me.

Allparts sell self adhesive copper sheet and tape for shielding. It's not too difficult a job to do sticking it in all the cavities. When you're finished, check for electrical continuity with a multimeter as sometimes the adhesive can insulate one bit stuck over another so you need to run a bit of solder over the joint..

I used that site when I shielded my Aria. You actually need to apply solder to the copper tape otherwise the adhesive stops it from being conductive

did you wire the pickups to the shielding or connect an earth from shielding to the pots......and is it ok to put shielding in the s/c cavity?
-
sorry for the ignorance- what does shielding do? reduce hum?
-
more for singles...reduce noise really...and do as it says on the packet shield
-
ok i need to do this.... my p-90 is damn noisy...
are there any downsides?
-
depends what the p90's are may need potting
-
bkp (and its just one- les paul melody maker you see)- so should be alrite there yeah? they're all potted if i remember correctly..?

p90's singles do pick up noise around them...rfi like comps etc...so never fully quiet like humbuckers, but shielding can help reduce..so I've been told am going to try it on the parker...could also be the earth on the melody maker
