Hey guys, it's been quite long since I posted here, since then I entered into the BKP users family by ordering a Skervesen with Nailbomb/VHII combo in it :) But this is not the reason of me creating this topic
I just ordered a Fender Modern Player Jag and I want to put some BKPs in it - which would you recommend? I mostly want to get the early Black Sabbath Tone on my Blackstar HT-5 (will i tune it to C# - it depends on how will the short scale handle it), but it would be cool if it would handle some other, less gainy stuff. My first idea was Warpig but I know that the humbucker version is very dark sounding and I'm afraid it will sound dull in this wood combination (full mahogany with rosewood fingerboard).
Cheers

Mississippi Queen will get you there.

Isn't Mississipi Queen humb sized? These fenders have p90 pickups.

BKP used to do a hotter wound BKP-92 which I always thought nailed the Iommi tone. Not sure about current range. The Nantucket looks like a good choice.

Yeah, sorry, I would get the Nantucket.

You could also think about a Nantucket in the neck and a Pig-90 in the bridge, and just use a volume pedal to back it off as needed.
As long as your guitar is not much darker than an SG you should be fine with a Pig-90. Apparently it is like a super Nantucket, rather than being modern sounding like a Supermassive. Although I have heard a clip which got decent Iommi sounds out of Supermassives:

+1 for the nantucket being a great option.
What about a Pig90 which is supposed to be a Warpig in a P90
Surely that would have a lot of Iommi vie about it
They do both neck and bridge versions

WOW I fell in love with that Supermassives demo, they sound awesome here as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0deikFo68ro
I think I'll go with them or Nuntuckets, Warpigs may be little too hot (15 kiloohms on neck is probably too much for me)

Don't be thrown by the 15k reading - it's 45 gauge wire so the resistance is more but not so with the output
But supermassive are lovely too!
