Well, what can I say after the shot inquary earlier. Congrats on getting them.

While I am 90% sure that they will rock you, cause they are perhaps the single most amazing set I have ever had (the mojo...and I actually loooove the middle position!!!), but even if you do not initially, man, just keep em around, if anything is wrong it is not the pickups, just the guitar they are in.

The do an amazing Slash, with that coarse, natural, original rock sound, blues like nothing can reach them, and Jazz only comparable with the Manhattan. Plus actually for some reason in my top three ever for pinched harmonics (with the RY and Stockholm). That makes them amazing for learning how to throw them into your playing and solo playing especially, at least it did for me. When I use them I switch between the mellower blues sound and adding gain by pedal to go a bit ZZ Top and go really crazy and offer up modern blues playing with a lot of pinched harmonics. you know, for those parts where you just go wiiiild.

Allright, now get em in and try it all. From low to high, the are shockingly great. Just dial in the height, these are almost as senstitive as my RY bridge.

PS: These seem to looove pure nickel wound strings more than anything else in my experience. Also boosters, preferably on the clean side, but medium set. And the guitar controlls are king.

Btw, are yours potted or not?

honestly, the only thing i dont know is if they are potted or not. the box says everything about it except for that. so i assume its potted. i figure if anything it would mention if it was unpotted but i think i'll like them either way. unpotted would be great to try. and you are right about keeping them even if they dont feel right, right off the bat. this guitar is a finicky one. the pups wont be in for a little while. because i'll be bringing this to my luthier to put them in but also to get a complete refret. my great grandfather played the hell out of it so they are super low. i like my medium jumbo or even jumbo. i may upgrade the nut too, and definitely the rest of the pots.

i'm also considering upgrading the tune o matic bridge on the guitar and the tuners to locking models. any suggestions for the bridge? i hear tone pros are great replacements for stock gibson hardware. i'll go with grover tuning pegs. i liked those on my les paul.

if i dont end up liking them in this guitar i'll definitely hold onto them for when i buy another les paul which is bound to happen. i've had my eye on a les paul special for a little while. i want a solid body les paul without many frills. i need that solid body regardless of the weight. the chambering was the main reason i disliked the lp custom. it just didnt feel right to me.

thats what i hear! all my other stuff is so in your face and modern sounding, itll be great to have something to inspire me in new ways. the mule has been great in the 335 but i never did get around to getting the full set. i'm not sure what i'll do with the mule pickup. i dont see me needing it any time soon. but it would come in handy. i'm still trying to sell one of my juggernauts as well. although thats a great pickup too

I forgot to ask.  Has any one tried coil tapping these pickups?  They came 4 conductor so maybe I can try it

Not yet, and to be honest I am not that interested, although I am a big fan of splitting. Thing is that itīs something that works better the higher the output is, so these are not optimal.
It might work, especially PRS style, but I plan to at some point rather transform two of my pots to push pulls so I have series / parallel switches for them seperatly. I would imagine that to be more usefull.

If I do that and install the SHO clone I got from Juansolo my Lucille should be able to do an insane number of sounds. I mean 4 pots, series / parallel switch, 3 way selector, clean boost, and a Varitone....muahahahahaha. Will then be my guitar with most different positions coming in at 48 + boost (current record is 9 + again boosted on one and 8 on another, both HSHs). I am insane.
