Title: Anyone else going to see Billy Idol on this tour?
Post by: FELINEGUITARS on October 29, 2014, 12:11:30 PM
As the ttitle says - anyone ele going?
I just got my tickets come through today

Been an on-off fan of Billy since early 80s and he puts on a good show, so I was pleased to get a ticket for the tour next week.
Saw him 9 years ago and it was a cracking good show, but hadn't listened to him for a while.

I took the plunge and bought his new album after listening to a recent long interview with Steve Stevens and it's possibly the best album he's done since Rebel Yell - sounds like a natural progression.

Here is a great interview with Steve - well worth having a listen to:

Also saw a couple of great live clips from Jimmy Kimmel show and they were great , so getting a ticket was a must do....

Yeah - with Steve and Billy Morrison on gitars the delivery is very professional and Billy seems very on form

I know it's kind of verboten to say this on the BKP forum, but I'm not really a fan of Steve Stevens....

I have got a couple of the Billy Idol albums from his glory days, but haven't heard them for years.  In fact they're so old they're on vinyl (before it became fashionable again).

I saw him this summer at a festival here in Sweden. Front row too so I canīt complain. Was a really fun show I must say. A lot of the youngsters could actually take a page outa Billys book when it comes to energy and show. It was really well delivered all in all, professional but not in that dead way. They just seemed to have a good time. Plus Billy knows how to work a crowd. Not sure how I felt about the leathery shirtlessness though. xD

I think that Billy is just proud to be in such good shape aged 59.

Billy & Steve know their biggest audience are girls - hence the songs have always had a dance-able vibe, so maybe you & I are not the target audience for the shirtless moments :)

Yeah, that is all true, gotta respect the man for the shape. And he knew how to cater to the ladies in the audience.

I think the main thing was that the shirtless "moments" were more than half the show I think. xD

Having watched those clips now, I was surprised to see SS playing a Suhr!

Suhr in one and Knaggs in the other.

Steve doesn't like to be tied down.
