Title: Cap on push-push pot while using Warpigs?
Post by: dwillen on December 10, 2014, 12:02:20 AM
I have a standard les paul configuration with two hums, 3 way toggle, 2 tone/2 volume pots, and at first was going to use the CTS 550k as the volume and the 500k push-push to the pickups into parallel, but I have heard that the CTS pots feel so much more pleasant turning, and since I wouldn't be using the tone as much as the volume, I had the volume and tone switched, so the push-push is now used as my tones instead. As I was doing a bit more research, I have found out that caps on the tone pots would help the signal, but is it possible while your tone pots are push-push pots? Like would the wiring fit?

I have a push-push 500K CTS pot for the tone on my Explorer, and it has a .022uf PIO cap on it.  Pretty much everyone who has a switching pot has it wired up with a cap as a tone control, it is simple.

I did have it with Warpigs, but I found the 0.022 cap too dark.  You might want 0.015uf.  If your Les Paul is fairly bright you might be okay with a darker cap.  Anyway they are simple to change
