Title: Anyone ever had to rewire a Rickenbacker 360?
Post by: Brow on January 06, 2015, 11:13:06 PM
Hey guys.

A friend of mine has recently asked me if I could help him sort out some electrical gremlins he seems to be getting with his Rickenbacker 360 as he knows I've rewired guitars and done pickup swaps etc in the past.

Anyways, after a bit of faffing about I think I've narrowed it down to 1 of, possibly both, the jack sockets on the guitar. Easy peesy I think, I'll swap them out and job done. Nope; they're nothing like anything I've ever seen before!

Does anyone know where I can get replacement jack sockets for this Rickie from in the UK? I can't seem to find anything on any of the sites I usually use.

Thanks for any help or advice you can offer.

Don't quote me on this but I believe a lot of the rickenbacker hardware is copyrighted and can only be bought from them or their distributors. I've heard tales of woe where people have tried to get replacement tail pieces and it's taken forever.

Wow, I'd forgotten all about this thread as it sank without a trace.

I ended up buying a new wiring kit for it from a website someone on another forum suggested as it was cheaper than just buying the jacks myself.

Thanks for your reply though.
