Title: Switch to BKP from Lundgren?
Post by: tristinc on January 10, 2015, 12:55:23 AM
Hi guys, I am about to build a new guitar to replace my current one as my primary instrument and have some time to think about my pickup selection while the neck gets built.  I have heard great things about BKP and am open to trying new things if I think it would be a step up.

I currently use a Lundgren M which, to be honest, I have no serious complaints with.  The tightness and low end are superb and the overall tone and output nice, but I would like some more sizzle.  If I could find a pickup that had the tight punch and low end of a Lundgren M with a nastier sound I would definitely be interested.  Does BKP have anything that might fit that bill or should I just continue with my tone tweaking?  I should add that I do not do any leads, what-so-ever, so I don't care about how the lead tone sounds.

Thanks in advance!

Rebel Yell or Nailbomb maybe for tightness and sizzle.

You didn't tell us what bands or tones you want to get from your new setup.

Hi

If you could give us a little more detail as to what kind of music you're playing it would help immensely with recommendations.

From your description so far I would recommend the Ceramic Nailbomb though. Having the Ceramic version would help with a tighter punch and the Nailbomb itself has quite an organic tone with a bigger bottom end.

Nastier with the same low end and punch? Check out the Ceramic Warpig. The ceramic adds some sizzle that you want. If the warpig is too much, then go with the Miracle Man. The miracle man has nice big low mids, tight low end and nice sizzle. The sizzle from the Miracle Man kind of reminds me of a better version Dimarzio's Evo. Don't let the EQ fool you of the MM..it's not  mid-scooped. The high mids just aren't as present.

Let us know.
