Title: Ac30cc 2x & Tele with B.K pups?

Hi, out of interest is anyone running a Tele with either Yardbird/Brown Sugar/Boss pups into a new Vox Ac302x?

Any opinions on the tone appreciated.

I played a tele through my Ac30 cc last friday (BKP-less, however) and that was blistering, so expect that and a whole lot more. You're being fairly specific there, though.

I played my Tele with Country Boys through an old AC30 a few months ago and it was enough to make a grown man cry- in a nice way of course. Unfortunately my mate ( owner of the AC30) wouldn't let me have it as a gift (the swine).

Thanks. What i'm getting at is this i guess..if  i go for higher output pups, will they push the Vox into that lovely shimmer at lower volumes, daft question maybe, but nice to get opinions  :?

Craggle I cannot say for sure but the pups you mention are likely to achieve that driven sound that we all love. My Country Boys sounded abosultly brilliant on the AC30 I played through. It is an old AC30 and always sounds great so undoubtedly the amp was one major element and the pups the other. My friend ( owner of the AC30) was more than inpressed. He know my Tele ( which is a Mexican 1950's reissue) before BKP's and agrees with me that the transformation is significant. Before I chose them I looked at either the Brown Sugars, CB's or Boss and after seeking Tims advice, went for the CB's as I wanted traditional Tele tones. If I had another Tele I would like perhaps Brown Sugars just for something slightly differernt, i.e  slightly hotter. I am sure that Tim will add more detail. Also, at the risk of making everyone groan because I have belaboured the pint, tyhe 4 way switch is a well worth consideration giving an extra tone- you get the standard N, B , B & N ( parallel) but the extra B & N series- thicker and hotter.
