Hi
I have crawled through the forum and can find lots of talk regarding vintage tones with the mule etc
But
I am having a semi-hollow built but i want a modern(er) sound, i am concerned about the impact of higher output pups on a semi-hollow
Should i be concerned or are there any pickups anyone can recommend
Few stats
Music style - all sorts but mostly modern-ish rock
Wood on guitar mainly korina and maple
Thanks

That is a strange combo, semi hollow with modern pups. The Rebel Yell is a low gain pup, slightly lower than the Mule in my book, but has the modern slant in the upper mids and highs.

yea, i know its an odd choice... just fancied playing around with a build, something you don't usually find in shops (probably for a reason :-) )
I like the RY sound, thanks

Just go crazy and throw in a set of Blackhawks.

 i imagine that might create feedback so high that only dogs could hear it ;-)

You know what you need mate? P90s. MQ, Supermassive, or Stockholm, depending on the amp and how modern you want to go. Pig90 might be a tad overboard, but things like Stockholm bridge with a Supermassive neck could be glorious for you, especially with a series/parallel switch for the middle position.
Depending on the exact woods used, their proportion, and the resulting sound a RY could also work really well.
Otherwise the Warpig has been thrown into semis before. Modern Jazz neck and a rocking bridge which is opened up by the construction, making it an angry modern rock machine. Actually a serious contender I recon. IŽd put it in a semi in a heartbeat.

A thread I started might help: https://bareknucklepickups.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=32254.msg411920#msg411920
I remain impressed with the Crawlers.

Crawlers in a semi-hollow would be quite an adventure. I might work, but usually you want pickups for such guitars with a little more air and less compression. If you want that kind of tone I would rather go Abraxas-bridge and Mule-neck.

Thanks for all the input, P90 could be interesting option i didn't consider but warpigs sounds awsome if it would not basically feedback to death.
