Hi guys,
I'm new to the BK pickups and this forum and I'm really excited to try out some new pickups.
I'm pretty set on getting a Stormy Monday for my hollowbody and I found a very good deal for a pair with one caveat, it's an uncovered zebra set and it's just not my thing.
My question is, is there anything stopping me from just buying a couple of covers and slapping them on? (I would have ordered unpotted anyway) I looked at videos on Youtube and it seems like I'd be more than capable of putting them on.
Could it possibly be a problem?
Thank you!

just find some with the right spacing (49.4mm or 53mm)

BKP won't sell them to you directly, you will have to mail the pup to them.
Finding a cover with the correct spacing will be tough.

Thank you guys,
The reason I'm hesitant to send the pickups to BK is because I live in America.
The good deal I found wouldn't be so great anymore if I have to endure the costs of shipping them all the way to England.
Do you guys know if I can use, say 1 15/16 covers? It comes out to 49.2125mm just about 1.8mm short.

Hi Bradkang
We always recommend letting us install new covers for you to make sure they are installed correctly. What I will recommend if you're going to DIY it, is that you put some paper tape on the inside of the cover as having it covered and not potted will give you a high chance of the pickup becoming noisy if air is able to oscillate between the metals of the poles and cover when putting a little drive through the pickup.
