Yeah... They look like they've been made by $%ing Dell or Apple or someone, and the only other difference is that the pictures of them have fake sparkles added on with photoshop and some of the combo models have variable fan speeds. What the hell's up with that?

Another Modern Marshall Series Designed for the Trash.
Seriously, Jim - don't even try to do contemporary. This is like Led Zeppelin coming back as an electronica outfit.[/b]

*Still sounds like cr@p, only now looks gayer!*

eww.
Credit where it's due though, it must some talent to make a range even more horrifically awful than the last one. I bet none of us could have pulled it off.

i'm inclined to agree with both of yu  Can everyone going to LGS this year do me a favour, and tell Jim personally what yu think of the new amps? (assuming he's there again...) Try and make him realise that they suck!

Yeah, it's funny how there is less and less middle ground in amps these days. You've either got the cyber gear where you can get every sound you can think of, without any real pure valve tone, or you get the stripped-down reissue tube amps that have a power switch if you're lucky.
"You want a standby switch?! Don't you know that ruins true tube tone?!" ;)

^either that, or you've got a hole in your wallet the size of a small country...

Too many knobs for me.
exactly what I was thinking. I like my jcm800 because it hasn't so many controls which makes it instantly more usable (and less to go wrong).

But to be fair, when do controls on amps EVER go wrong? (other than on behringers where the knobs are held on matchsticks).
I think there's a place for amps with six knobs and a place for amps with sixty. I just happen to think that the place for the amp with six is in my bedroom, and the place for an amp with sixty is probably on a stage...

It's just that when amplifiers are complicated there is more to go wrong. This isn't necessarily a comment about the amount of controls, but the circuit itself. Most recent Marshalls have all hardware mounted on the PCB board directly.
