Hey guys
I do have an Ibanez LP "lawsuit" model 2661 from about 1975
It got bolt on neck with rosewood fretboard and a mahogany body.
Its got super 70s installed, that are great for rock, but I want:
- A tighter bridge pickup suitable for modern metal, that cleans up well with the volume knob to play rock, hard rock and clean ambient
- the neck pickup should be somewhat brighter than a typical les paul neck pickup sound (which I do not like), perhaps be able to split coil it to be able to get some sort of "stratty" tones (if possible?)
I have looked at the holy diver calibrated set, and Bare knuckle support suggested Neck: riff raff and bridge : Cold Sweat or dual Cold Sweat
Based on my preference what do suggest?

A Cold Sweat bridge will definitely give you the tightness you are looking for.
A Riff Raff neck could work with that well. A CS neck is not very bright but does sound very different from a 490R.
I think people have used Cold Sweat bridge with a Holy Diver neck with good results. The HD neck is apparently fairly bright

a calibrated cold sweat set should work just fine
that or a rebel yell set, if you want extra midrange
