I finally got my Ceramic Black Hawk in my Ibanez RG2550 but I'm having trouble with the height. One of the things that I've always heard about this pickup is that the height of the pickup has a big impact on one's tone. It's the best humbucker I've ever had in this guitar but I like the option of lowering a pickup and cranking the gain/OD pedal.
I can get the pickup fairly low but when I do the front bobbin is higher than the rear bobbin and then the adjustment screws start coming up (as in coming out of the pickguard). Does this necessitate some kind of routing/drilling/circumcision etc? If so, what?

It will most likely require a little routing out just to make the cavity a little deeper. Any good guitar tech should be able to do this for you.

Make sure the mounting screws aren't bottoming out on the wood first.

Does the pickup have short or long legs?
