Title: Choices...........,

Currently building a guitar and require a serious pick-up that delivers not only deep resonance and clarity of tone for jazz comping etc. but also a pick-up that screams aggression and hard edge for lead and metal soloing/chording (in overdrive).Any suggestions appreciated.

Hi Sven, welcome to the forum. :drink:

Right now I'm thinking Warpig. It has the overdrive tone you're looking for and an amazing clean sound that could do the jazz stuff perfectly.

Can you describe the guitar you're building; shape, woods, neck, bridge etc.?

I think that the Nailbomb or Crawler would be more versatile, they both do clean tones really well. the nailbomb has slightly more bass, so it would be better for the metal part of what you are looking for.

Saying that apparently the jazz guys in France love the Warpig!
you dont have to have the distressed cover if you dont like it, we can make them open, or with a chrome, nickle, gold or black cover.

Welcome to the forum!
I think I'd go with Steve's advice on this one and suggest either a Crawler or Nailbomb-not sure the Warpig would be too much for jazz!

You will also need an amp that can pull  both ends of the spectrum off convincingly, as well.

Well interesting advice , could mean an extensive visit to local dealer. The guitar itself is a personal unique design solid 2 inch of Douglas Fir,Kind of Les Paulish ,actually has a bridge end to the body rounded but full like the Santana PRS.Should end up with a Telecaster style bridge in Brass and a bolt on reverse Nuno Bettencourt Washburn headstock.Tack sa mycket igen,Halsa till.Sven

How about a Crawler neck and Nailbomb bridge?

I'll come back to this at a later date.Working on the measurements for routering and buying relevant parts, recently picked up a solid brass telecaster bridge with humbucker mounting, looking real nice.Don't forget the depth of tone and ringing sustain are also a part of an expressional sound ,not just balls out mega-hard stuff.(Which is also okay: PDT_004 ibland jag sager...,)
