theres often quality (as well as predictable and embarassing) bits audience interaction at live concerts which have been captured on live albums.
one of my personal favourites is on Judas Priest.... Live! where rob says something like:
"i'll tell you what we've been doing at the end of every show, we've been asking a really simple question... that question is, we wonder: where is the LOUDEST audience in the WORLD?"
of course that concert is "number one" - i bet he said that in every city ;)
or on No Sleep Til Hammersmith where lemmy introduces "the loudest voice in any roadcrew.... G R!"
there must be loads of quality rock'n'roll live quotes out there, i'd really love to get some tips for others.

Lemmy is always great with that. Too many quotes to list really. OK, I'll quote one, f I can remeber it correctly.
"I've noticed you always go quiet inbetween songs. At first I thought it was because you didn't like us but at the end of the show you're still there so it wasn't that. So I think you're all waiting for me to say something clever but I'm doing the best I can with the limited intellect the lord gave me."

This isn't interaction as much as just banter. Hendrix, introducing his version of Like a Rolling Stone, says something like: 'This is a song that Bob Dylan wrote--and over there is his grandma [points to Noel Redding, the bass player, who'd just got a perm].'
Tommy Emmanuel was the best person I'd ever seen for audience interaction, but I can't remember anything he said!

Devin Townsend is hilarious live. He had me in stitches.

'LETS GET THIS PARTY STARTED!!!...
with some mid-tempo rock  '
Jeff Tweedy, Wilco on Kicking Televisions:Live In Chicago

The Stranglers Live X Cert album theres a bit when the bass into starts and you can hear this bloke shout 'w**ker' so they stopped playing and Hugh Cornwell says 'Did someone say w**ker?' Then the audience are all doing it. That's quite funny!

End of Helter Skelter on beatles White Album John says summit like "bloody ell me fingers are bleeding" :)
-
"I've got blisters on my fingers"

Been while since I heard it. My fave track I think though

The Who live at The Young Vic, after playing 'Behind Blue Eyes':
a word, wherever he is, to the bloke who was dancing. wouldn't normally mind people dancing about - do it all the time meself. but it's a bit of an empty space there just now, and it's a bit distracting and we're trying to remember chords and things. so later on, as a special treat, you can come up on stage and i'll dance with ya.
( audience cheers, someone shouts something )
oh, you wanna dance with me now do ya? i'd have killed the other geezer if e'd done what you're doing now. well come a bit closer and i'll get ya. oh dear, you nearly tripped up, you silly boy. that's what happens when you let people in free.

Spinal Tap, live in Springfield:
"Goodnight... ...Springden!"

"Goodnight ... Springton.
There will be no encore!"
I love Bruce Dickinson's rants. Some are better than others, but they're all equally entertaining.

Helloween, after the first song in the set: "So how you doing so far? I mean we have a very special set for you tonight, we got a little bit of everything. We got fast songs, we got slow songs, we got mid-tempo songs... boring songs, interesting songs. We've got almost everything..."

It sucks that they edited his rant on "Britney Spears" out of the Rock in Rio concert for the album, that cracked me up!
