What would be the best bridge humbucker for a fuitar with:
Ebony fingerboard
Mahogany body
22 frets
maple neck
vintage trem
What i want:
high gain
tight bottom end (not to tight)
versatile
and a little agressive( not too much)
good harmonicks
very responsive

For a fuitar like this I would recommend the alnico version of the Failbomb fumbucker.

I am laughing way too hard at this....xD The failbomb is brilliant.
Sides that, yeah, it sounds like a reasonable recommendation to me.

how about a miracle fan?

Classic ...
I would recommend the alnico nailbomb too

I wouldn't go for the A-Bomb as I think it's way too aggressive for what is needed here. The Rebel Yell might be a better bet here but the Cold Sweat and Holydiver might also be excellent choices.
-
I suggest the Rebel Gel too.

Indeed. Good thoughts as usual. Which would be suited would largely depend on the construction style in question though, so the body type. More about that could help narrow things down.

I'm guessing this is a Strat style guitar(vint trem)?
If so then a Holydiver will give you plenty of output and great harmonic response, especially with a mahogany body.

A rare and welcome sight I must say.
I do agree (how can I not) seeing the wood combo and the amount of frets, etc. Really though, how could I muss the vintage trem thing...shame on me.
The HD really ticks all the boxes then. The boss knows his stuff and the HD is a brilliant one.
Preaching to the choir right now, IŽll just leave.

The Diver will please for sure, I tought with a mahogany body and the OP's preferences, the RY might be the best choice.

Hi Tim, exactily the guitar is chapman ML1, my biggest concern is the ebony fingerboard.
Right now i have a seymour duncan custom Sh5, in the bridge and i dont now if is from the fingerboard wood or from the pickups the guitar as a lot of highs, and very little bottom end.
i would like a pickup that works very well in ebony fingerboard and in a mahogany body.
Thanks a lot for your answers guys, and jokers :cheesy:

The ebony board will certainly contribute some brightness but so too the bolt on neck and 25.5" scale length. The SH5 is ceramic powered and will sound bright too so an alnico powered humbucker like the Holydiver will definitely add more depth and also some punch in the mids.

I had an alder strat with a maple neck/board. it always seemed a bit on the dull side. I modded the fool out of that guitar over the years, which included some pretty bright pickups. when I felt I'd punished the alder body too much, I replaced with with a licensed Fender body from warmoth made of poplar... chosen as something that's a little brighter than alder, but not as bright as maple. suddenly it was a really bright guitar and the brighter pickups became brittle and crispy....especailly with the titanium saddles (one of the many mods! lol!). I put a set of alnico Nailbombs in that guitar and it balanced out to give me exactly what I want.
but.....like some have already said...the NBs might be too agressive for what you're wanting.

It seems to me that the seymour Duncan custom sh 5
Is one of they most agressive pickups, right? i like it, if the nailbom is Similar i would like it also, the problem with the custom, is that doesnt have a lot of bottom end and tightness on this guitar.
If the nailbom has the same agression, but more bottom end i Will like it for sure.
-
yes, the sh-5 is quite aggressive and compressed
the ceramic nailbomb has a somewhat similar voicing, but it's punchier and a lot clearer
if you still feel that it's still lacking low end, get it closer to strings (which is impossible with the sh-5, as it gets very muddy quickly)
I'd still take the miracle man for a slightly bigger bass, better clarity and harmonics
the nailbomb sounds a little more aggressive, though

well, I don't know if I'd sign off on that other pickup being "one of the most aggressive". more than a vintage PAF-type voice? sure. but there are many far more aggressive ones out there.
mine is an alnico Nailbomb set. it's a little more aggressive than the RY. it's also got a smidge more heft to it, which fills out that brighter guitar I was talking about.
I should let people with experience with the ceramic Nailbomb comment on that version.

I ordened the humbucker sugested from the boss, im looking forward to post the results soon.
