Hija,
Just got my BlackDogs and installed them, as well as new 500K pots from Tim. Had to drill bigger holes in my beloved Epi Les Paul to fit the pots in
The sound is awesome, will post some clips towards the weekend, promise!
Here my problem: When all potis are full on, there is just very little hum (normal), but as soon as I turn an active vol pot down just a little, I get a LOT of noise. The noise is also there when the volume of the active PUp is turned down completely. This is not the case with my other guitars, so maybe I've done sth wrong? Is there a problem with my ground circuit?
Who knows this kind of issue and can help?
Thx!!!!

THat sounds like a wiring fault, check your work especially the grounds on the volume pots and to the bridge ground!
-
hmm, checked as far as I could see - I mean the guitar is OK as long as I touch it to ground it, but when I take my hands of - BRMMMMMMMMMM
It's not like this with my Axis.
Can it be because I wired it according to this: http://guitarelectronics.zoovy.com/product/WDUHH3T2202 ?
Here the red cable from the humbucker goes to the middle pin and the left one to the switch, the other way round as on Tim's diagram. Do I need to rewire the middle pin to the switch and the left one to the pickup?

when you say you touch 'it' and its ok... what are you talking about? the pup? or the bridge or tail piece or trem or whatever? if its any of them then doesnt that mean that the grounding isnt right? i get that a tiny bit on mine....

Hmm, sounds a little unusual, best to call me-01326 341313.

It's OK now. It was indeed the wrong pin on the volume poti. The drawings on guitarelectonics.com seem to be for a different poti type.
Remaining noise is most likely linked to the shitety cable that was in my epiphone in the beginning. I'll go get some proper cable and rewire everything accurately. I don't wanna spend money on great guitar cables outside the guitar and then have this cr@p inside:)
Thx for all the help!

Huge thanks for this thread. Just traced the same problem to the same cause.
And... creepy! It's an Epi LP with Black Dogs too!

I wired my Stockholm to the wrong lug at first. Easily done if you are like me and have poor eyesight.
