:D Have just got back from seeing Pagans Mind at the Underworld in Camden . F***ing Storming gig !!!
Opening act were Soliquay [ i think that`s how you spell it ] imagine a group of 6 formers decide to form a Heavy Metal band & you`ll have some idea how they sound !! :P
Next up were Power Quest. :D Have to say i quite like this lot, in an age were the fun seems to have gone out of H/M this lot were having loads of it on stage. Very Very tight band & as for the lyrics...sword & sorcery all the way !!! [ Yes i no C.H.E.E.S.E !!!!   ] but i liked it non the less. personal fav track of the night from PQ "Sacred Land"
Then it was time for Pagans Mind. I can`t tell you how highly i rate this band. Believe me when i tell you that for my money they had the BEST album of 2005 with the simply stunning "Enigmatic Calling" if your into Power Metal or bands like Iron Maiden/Queensryche etc then this lot will be right up your street !
There was about 150 to 200 people at the Underworld tonight a great shame as if this had been the 80`s then these guys would have been playing Hammersmith Odean etc, & all of you lot would have heard of`em !
A great touch was when we entered the Keyboard Player with Power Quest Steve Williams i think was sitting at their merchandise stall signing T-Shirts & copys of the Album for fans !
PM put on a blinder of a perfomance & had a great sound. Me & my mate had a great time ! Personnal fav PM track of the night, "Entrance To Infinity/Homebound instrumental" absolutley top draw stuff !! For those of you that are interested & or can make it they are playing at the following
Mr Kyps - Poole 28th March
Edwards No 8 - Birmingham 29th March
Rio - Bradford 30th March
Krash - Newcastle upon Tyne 31st March
Go check`em out for yourselves !!

I was at prog power at the weeked it was a very good gig. The highlight was Gus G on guitars for Firewind really good guitar work, superb riffs the whole package.

Hi mate
The turnout was good, its definately not as good as bloodstock but its still new days. There were a lot of Euro dudes there which was cool.
It was interesting and Cheltenham is a pretty chilled out place, I didn't bother with that cd as I was carrying booze most of the time.
-
:D Being that you were carrying booze i`ll forgive `ya !! :P
Glad there was a good crowd it should mean it`ll happen next year

I caught them at the Prog Power in Cheltenham and IMHO thought they were by far the best act of the day. They have a heavy Dream Theater influence to my ears. The guitarist is obviously an EVH judging by his kit and some of his licks.
Stunning band, I hope they get the wider recognition their music deserves. I've since bought two of their three CD releases.

:D Is it just me or doe`s the guitarist D-tune his guitar ? When we went to see `em my mate reconed that his guitar was down to a D with maybe the E down to a C ?
Glad you liked `em ! :D

Not sure is the answer! The bass response is certainly big which suggests tuning down. He also has a D-tuna fitted to his MM EVH.
I don't like em', I love em!
