Hi guys.
Just thought I'd post about a guitar I got yesterday after a trade with Toe-Knee, you may remember his earlier thread on it:

It's a Stormshadow (luthier based in Sheffield) VH150 and looking at the banana headstock I guess it takes quite an influence from a Kramer Baretta? Although I'm no expert on that sort of thing
It's about as simple as it gets really: Alder body, Maple neck and fretboard, Top mounted OFR set for downbends only (my preferred setup), single volume and 3 way toggle. Pickup wise it's a Bulldog Hot PAF in the bridge and the owner before Toe-Knee changed the stock Dimarzio Virtual Vintage Heavy Blues single coil to an Irongear rails style Jailhouse pickup.
Normally I'm not a fan of rails type pickups, I've never found 1 I actually like the tone of, but this 1 appears to be a bridge pickup that's been put in the neck so it's a tad brighter than a normal neck pickup. Which probably explains why I like it more
Toe-Knee put a set of 11s on it and re-jigged the OFR for my heavier strings and Eb tuning and it plays great, I'm very happy with it.
I have a BOTB type gig tonight where we only play 4 or 5 songs, 1 of which I sometimes use a trem on when we play it in the full set so I'll probably take this along and give it it's 1st outing with me.

Killer guitar!
Does look a lot like a Baretta, especially that angled bridge pickup.
I need a guitar like this!
-
Sweet  I've said before, but I love superstrats, and the 80s-style ones are even more awesome.
I think it's based on a Baretta, yeah. Though I think they also can fit it with the EVH-style non-angled direct mount bridge pickup, so maybe it's also based on the EVH model?

Interest you in my BC Rich Gunslinger? Dimarzio and BKPs in it!

(Sorry, worth a try!)

Cheers mate! I really like it. The Jackson I traded it for was nice, but this has a fatter neck which I prefer.

It really is. It bats far above it's average tbh! I had it set up, a miracle man in the bridge and it's an 80s Rock beast!
But since getting my old Kramer, the Stormshadow and my old MIJ Fender with VHIIs I only need so many 80s Rock guitars

I'd love that Gunslinger but I don't have the money for any new guitars right now. Plus the postage to Australia is probably a killer.
The Gunslinger is one of the few BC Rich guitars that really appeals to me. The others would be the Mockingbird and Stealth
