Hi all,
Hopefully getting a Kramer Pacer Vintage guitar this weekend, and I'm interested to know what you'd recommend for the best pickup replacements? It's a maple body and neck guitar, and I'm after a hard rock 80's-style tone. I was looking at the Holy Divers (already have the Rebel Yells in my Les Paul and love them, and thought this might compliment them).
Cheers all!

My guess would be Holy Diver.
What pickups are now in that guitar?
Because it might get a little too middy

Looking at the specs, it comes with a JB....................then HD all the way.
I upgraded my JB with a HD and I'll never go back!!!

HD is the obvious choice, but you should try the guitar out with the existing pups anyway......you might like em....

HD or perhaps a Crawler, which will soften all that bright, snappy maple.

I have that guitar. be careful, as this is an example of "maple" in guitars from the Asian market that shouldn't really be compared with normal expectations of maple. I also have a few of the "maple" 1984 model from that same Gibson company and the same applies. it's really more of a tone closer to an alder. I am familiar with the pickups that come in that guitar and the HD is going to be softer in the highs. if that's what you want, that's the way to go. I've found the RY to be much closer to what is currently in that guitar, but just more transparent and a little more defined low end. if that's what you want and you already have a set, consider swapping them out to get an idea of how the sound in the guitar you are getting....which might be a good idea anyway.
