ive got a prs se tremonti custom guitar, that i would like to try some bkps in, i was thinking about the mule set, or how about a abraxas bridge and mule neck, im looking for the most versatile set i can, play gary moore, metallica, and bluesy type stuff, what do you guys think or reccommend, cheers steve.

VHII in the neck and Cold Sweat in the bridge is a very versatile set! Do not be fooled by the ceramic magnet of the Cold Sweat, apart from the tight response I really doubt anyone can tell that it is ceramic by its tone, at least I cannot. Eventually you could go for a Rebel Yell instead of Cold Sweat, also a nice and tight pickup but not quite as versatile. The Cold Sweat neck is also a nice pickup, a bit brighter than the VHII.
One question though; do you want a blues pickup that can do metal, or a metal pickup that can do blues? I know that there is no such thing as a "blues pickup" or a "metal pickup", at least in the BKP range, but let us pretend that there is. Just to get the general idea.

+1 on all of this. I have the CS set and I can tell you that no-one has ever guessed that the magnet is ceramic.

Mules-set or if you like a bit more mids, reduced topend (but still good chime) and a tad compression in the bridge, go Abraxas. But, you can't go wrong with a caiibrated Mule-set. They handle a lot of gain very well. I use my Mules for play blues, pop, rock, classic rock and hardrock. They clean up beautifully with the volumepot. Really good vocal, dynamic PAF59-copies.

ive done more research, and i think i will go for the mule set, thanx for all your replies, cheers steve

I've recently put an Abraxas set in my PRS Bernie Marsden which is not a million miles from your guitar and they are wonderful. I'd really like to try Mules in this guitar just out of curiosity so I will be very interested to hear what you think of them. Keep us posted.
