So, I'm making this update as I know a lot of potential buyers will probably check into the forum before deciding on a purchase, and my previous post was on the border of buyer's remorse.
Anyhow, after reading the responses, I brought my Tele into my local shop to upgrade the pots from 250 to 500, and holy moly, what a difference.
It's almost difficult to describe how much of an improvement this is. 500 pots on the Piledriver should be absolutely mandatory. The upgrade took the pickup from flat to FILTHY. Not only did the tone spectrum equalize out, bringing out the mids and the highs, but the sheer character it brought out is simply astonishing. I've never heard pickups sound more alive than this.
Thanks to everyone who were quick to help, and a special thanks to Tim for his detailed explanation!

Good to hear it worked out. Pots are powerful things. Now you know why the piledriver has a good reputation. =)

Nice to hear that worked out fine.

I knew the 500K pots would sort it. I run 500K pots on my Stockholm P-90, they should be mandatory for those too.
